Announcing the CTCHC Community Mosaic Project!

We're very proud of and honoured by our partnership with Central Toronto Community Health Centres, which is home to both Queen West Community Health Centre  and  Shout Clinic in downtown Toronto's original Queen West neighbourhood.

Over the past two months, we've met with more than 150 project contributors to: inquire and listen; brainstorm ideas, themes, and motif; and experiment with visual expressions using simple materials and accessible approaches to art making. This arts-based participatory research is an important part of a consultation process that will ultimately shepherd us toward the conceptual development of a design that reflects project contributors and the communities that intersect at the centre,  and the artistic, aesthetic, and cultural traditions found in neighbourhood including Anishinabe, Chinese, Portugeuse, graf/street art, and punk.

Join us at an upcoming community meeting (at Central Toronto Community Health Centres, 168 Bathurst Street just south of Queen) if you would like to contribute to the creation of this new artwork:

March 14th, from 2 pm to 4 pm
March 21st, from 5 pm to 7 pm
April 4th, from 2 pm to 4pm

Snacks and TTC tokens available.

Red Dress Productions and Central Toronto Community Health Centres gratefully acknowledge the support of the citizens of Ontario through the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council, the City of Toronto Public Realm, Transportation Services, and the TD Bank Group.

Please visit the CTCHC page (soon to be posted at the top of this view) where you'll find our open studio schedule and project credits.

Open studio will be located on the centre's 1st floor where we'll build this new collaborative public artwork from April to June.
