Open Studio at CTCHC

Thanks to all the folks from Sketch, Four Winds, and Harm Reduction who joined the CTCHC Community Mosaic Project this week. We're off to a great start!

Special thanks to Lorraine Barnaby for dedicating a lot of time and energy to outreach and promotion.

Everyone is welcome to contribute to building this new large-scale public artwork. All materials are provided and no experience is necessary.

Photo-Based Research

I've been thinking a lot about research -- the guises it takes and the surprising places it can lead. Arts-based and oral history research with contributors on community engaged projects, photography (documentary and experimental), and reading plays a crucial role in my work as an artist.

Research enables me to see, think, and understand in new ways. It generally supports the development of a "bigger" thing; however, the research itself is interesting for its archival and artistic value.

I want to do something (?) with this research at a future date. For new, I'm posting a few images here that include my field experiments with form, colour, and light, and representation and abstraction.
